Ahold Delhaize USA names next Food Lion president

Ahold Delhaize USA says Food Lion's executive vice president of retail operations, Greg Finchum, will assume the role of president in May 2025.

Current Food Lion President Meg Ham has announced that she will retire in May.

Finchum joined Food Lion in 1989 and has been in his current role for more than a decade, delivering consistent sales growth and strong financial performance, according to a news release. Additionally, the company said he has a track record of building strong brand loyalty among customers and creating emotional connections between associates and the brand while preserving the heritage that has made Food Lion successful over the years.

Finchum also played an integral role in the strategic repositioning of Food Lion and has continued to lead initiatives to evolve the brand for the future, the release said.

"Greg has held a variety of roles throughout the organization, including having served as head of strategy and head of retail services. A resident of Salisbury, N.C., Finchum said he is humbled to take on the position in May.
