Earlier this summer, Harris Teeter and Washington Fruit Growers teamed to provide fresh produce to those in need through their “Apples in Action” campaign.
The company says it earned a top score on the Disability Equality Index and the distinction of “Best Places to Work for Disability Inclusion.”
The social impact organization says the new role will help expand retail distribution and global partnerships.
The retailer honored more than 14,600 students nationwide for work to fight hunger and waste.
Found on packaging for kiwifruit, bell peppers and citrus, the social impact program’s reach now spans to retailers including Southeastern Grocers/Winn-Dixie, Sam’s Club, Walmart and more.
