The International Fresh Produce Association is looking for a new chief food safety and regulatory officer, as Natalie Dyenson is set to leave the organization for a new role.
While more time before implementation can help companies ready for the new food safety rules, some worry that businesses will wait until closer to the 30-month extension deadline to prepare.
The agency said the extension does not amend the requirements of the final rule but provides additional time to ensure complete coordination.
The company says its platform provides real-time automated traceability and lot tracking, capturing and connecting lot codes, harvest locations, supplier details and shipment records.
