With year-round availability and daily harvesting, the company said it is providing a reliable, sustainable alternative to seasonal field lettuce, reducing food waste and offering a cost-efficient solution for grocers and foodservice operators.

By using the Flashfood app, Loblaw customers also have diverted nearly 86 million pounds of potential food waste from landfills since 2019.
The newly created role is intended to strengthen the Canadian Produce Marketing Association’s membership offerings and expand into new markets domestically and beyond Canada.
