The Albertsons Cos. banner says it decreased food waste and increased donations in three months after using Divert’s solutions to streamline its operations.
The app that connects grocers to consumers to reduce food waste says more than 44 million people experience food insecurity in the U.S. and more than 145 billion meals are thrown away annually.
Following a positive result during routine testing, the company initiated the recall of lot #LW15124 sold at Publix starting May 31 with a sell-by date of June 15.
The event, held July 10-11 in Monterey, Calif., adds a session to look at the growing interest in fresh produce snacking.
