Austin, Texas-based Whole Kids Foundation has a new app to teach kids about growing organic.
The free, interactive app, Starting with Soil, is designed for children, and
“provides parents and educators with an easy and fun way to allow children to discover the importance of healthy soil and see first-hand the harmonious roles that plants, animals and people (even kids!) play in keeping soil balanced so that organic food can grow.”
It’s available for both Apple and Android devices.
Whole Foods’ Whole Kids Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to helping kids eat better and enjoy it.
The app has information about weather, soil, pollinators and a microscope to show the composition of soil at its core, and a timeline to show how soil is created.
