The Packer's 34th Fresh Trends consumer survey published in April, and while the survey primarily focuses on consumer purchase patterns of the Top 50 produce commodities, it also contains a wealth of information about the average U.S. consumer.
The Packer's researchers not only ask what consumers buy in the past 12 months, but the where, why and how.
Surveyors intentionally balanced the pool to match demographics from the U.S. Census as closely as possible, while also pulling only respondents who are the primary household shopper, or who share the duty equally.
