Bentonville, Ark.-based Walmart Inc. and the Walmart Foundation have committed up to $250,000 for relief efforts for the California wildfires.
The amount includes nonprofit grants to the America Red Cross and Salvation Army to support their activities as well as in-kind donations to support first responders, according to a news release.
“We are saddened by the devastation caused by the wildfires and the impact to our associates and the communities we serve,” Julie Gehrki, Walmart’s vice president, programs, said in the release. “This has been an unprecedented year for disasters around the U.S., and we remain committed to support relief efforts to help them through this difficult time.”
Walmart and the Walmart Foundation this year have donated more than $35 million to disaster relief efforts, according to the release.
