United Fresh Innovation Awards honor value-added

CHICAGO — Dole, Crunch Pak, Veggie Noodle Co., Full Harvest and Nature’s Frequencies received innovation awards June 15 at the United Fresh Produce Association show.

The winners were selected by show attendees from among a total of 46 entries.

Dole won Best New Fruit Packaging for Go Berries!, Crunch Pak won Best New Fruit Product for Apple Rings, and Veggie Noodle Co. won Best New Vegetable Product for Veggiccine line.

Full Harvest won Best New Packing/Processing Equipment, and Nature’s Frequencies won Best New Food Safety Solution for Food Freshness Card.

Full Harvest is an online platform that aims to connect growers to businesses that can sell their imperfect produce, and the Food Freshness Card is a product designed to extend the shelf life of produce.

“This year’s Innovation Awards winners won from a field of excellent and qualified competitors,” United Fresh vice president of convention and industry relations John Toner said in a release. “The exceptional creativity of these five winners helped them stand out.”
