The United Kingdom branch of Lidl isn't relying on cartoon branding to promote its new line of kid-friendly fruits and vegetables. The produce itself is almost cartoonish.
The retailer says in a blog post the line is launching with:
- Mini Broccoli Trees (broccoli rabe)
- Cauliflower Clouds
- Sweet Potato Piggies
- Romanesaurus Rex (mini Romanesco)
- Unicorn Carrots
Lidl says the line complements its assortment of fruits and vegetables in fun-size packs, aiming to “get kids engaged with cooking and snacking on healthy foods.” It plans to offer the specially-marked packs until the end of March, with the possibility of expanding the program.
“We're hoping the range will be a hit with you and other Lidlers and continue to add more fruits and veggies to the collection,” the company says.
