The Giant Co., Carlisle, Pa., is offering free, live Zoom classes focused on National Nutrition Month, Easter and plant-forward recipes throughout March and April.
The virtual nutrition classes are to help consumers explore new flavors and nutrition in March and get a jump on Easter and the growing plant-based food trend in April, according to a news release.
“From mini-chefs to foodie families, our upcoming virtual nutrition classes are all about spring solutions,” Giant Co. Dietitian Kilene Knitter said in the release. “We’re focused on sharing meals and snacks to provide you with inspiration for your own table, whether it’s new ways to incorporate spices, brightening your plate with spring produce, or going 100% plant-based without giving up any of the foods you love.”
Classes include:
- Family Meals at 5: Every Tuesday at 5 p.m. will be balanced, budget-friendly cooking classes introducing a sprice; April’s recipes feature 100% plant-based meals, including vegetable-filled shepherd’s pie and tofu banh mi;
- A World of Flavors: During National Nutrition Month this March, every Wednesday at noon dietitians and special guests explore how to incorporate favorite different cultural flavors and foods into a balanced, healthy lifestyle;
- Hippity Hoppity Easter-Themed Treats: Fresh carrots star in the carrot cake bites that dietitians can suggest among other Easter-themed ideas for aspiring chefs of all ages; and
- Spotlight on Spring Produce: Every Tuesday at noon in April, dietitians provide ideas to brighten your plate with a rainbow of produce. Ideas include slow cooker spring green risotto and carrot cake pancakes.
