Self-driving store = “grab and go”

Self-driving store = “grab and go”

With this self-driving “store,” the produce department comes to your door.

Robomart, introduced at CES 2018, is an “autonomous driverless store” that the company plans to license to retailers to power “the most affordable on-demand delivery services across the world.”

According to the company's website, www.robomarts.com, consumers tap a button to request the closest robomart. “Once it arrives, they head outside, lock the doors and shop for the products they want.”

Robomart tracks what the buyer picks, and charges them accordingly.

The first prototype was built in California, and the company expects to deploy a fully functional fleet of commercial pilots “soon.”

It's looking for retailers to sponsor pilots in the San Francisco Bay area.
