Heather Shasa (lower right in the above picture), dietitian for ShopRite of Little Falls, N.J., is the winner in Produce for Kids’ National Nutrition Month in-store display contest.

The contest was open to retail dietitians who receive the free quarterly We Heart RDs Produce for Kids resource kit, according to a news release. Shasa received a $1,000 scholarship for her using the kit materials, according to the release.

“I look forward to utilizing the materials sent in the We Heart RDs kit for my in-store programming as well as my events in the community,” Shasa said in the release.

“The materials and resources have been indispensable to me as a retail registered dietitian.”

The kit is sent to more than 470 retail dietitians at more than 55 U.S. and Canadian retailers, according to the release. It contains counter cards for in-season produce, recipes that use those items, stickers for kids, tips from Produce for Kids bloggers, and seasonal information from commodity boards, according to the release.

As part of National Nutrition Month, Produce for Kids employees also completed certificates in food, nutrition and health through the University of Florida, according to the release.
