Fourteen former Marsh Supermarkets will rebrand to Needler's Fresh Market.

Findlay, Ohio-based Generative Growth II, which purchased 15 Marsh stores for $8 million in June, said it plans to unveil the converted stores Sept. 15 with full exterior and interior rebranding completed by the end of October. The final store will rebrand to the company's Chief Supermarket banner.

“Customers can expect a clean, fresh look with our marketing and communication, said Julie Anderson, vice president of marketing and partner in Generative Growth II, in a news release.

Generative Growth II is owned by third generation grocers Anderson and Michael S. Needler Jr., according to a release. The company owns 25 supermarkets in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky and is managed by Fresh Encounter Inc., also based in Findlay. Fresh Encounter Inc. operates 59 stores and was founded by Michael S. Needler Sr. and the late Susan Cheek Needler.

“Needler's Fresh Market truly represents who we are as a family and as an operator,” Needler, CEO of Fresh Encounter Inc., said in a news release. “My sister, Julie, and I have grown up in the grocery business and look forward to bringing our genuine family values to the former Marsh stores. I know customers will begin to experience the price we feel serving our friends and neighbors every day.”

The company plans to focus on fresh produce, particularly locally-sourced products and high quality in-store bakery and deli foods.
