Los Angeles, Calif.- based Pacific Trellis Fruit has successfully launched Jam grapes, a new black seedless grape.
The variety is exclusive to Pacific Trellis Fruit and is a result of its close collaboration with Labrunier, Brazil’s largest table grape producer.
“With the increased focus on flavor and taste in new grape varieties, we knew we had a potential winner on our hands here,” Josh Leichter, general manager of Pacific Trellis Fruit/Dulcinea Farms, said in a news release.
The Jam grapes, developed by Embrapa in Brazil, offer a unique eating experience with concord-type flavor and high brix levels, according to the release.
Availability is now limited through early to mid-January.
The fruit is being offered in 2-pound clamshells as well as random weight bags.
“Based on some of the successes we are seeing with the early distribution of the Jam grapes, we expect to have it back for the spring when Brazil starts their first-semester harvest,” Leichter said in the release.
