Shoppers who see recipes by the National Mango Board can immediately buy the recipe ingredients from their preferred retailers, thanks to a partnership with Chicory, a platform that provides a shoppable e-commerce tool.

It's yet another way to make the mango more mainstream and accessible.

Chicory automatically adds the ingredients needed for one of mango.org's recipes into consumers' shopping carts at a retailer of their choosing by simply clicking the “Get Ingredients” button, according to a news release.

After clicking that button on the recipe page, shoppers can verify their ZIP code, select the desired retailer and be directed to a cart on that retailer's website containing every ingredient needed for the recipe they were just reading.

The capability to shop recipes on Mango.org, via Chicory, is available for recipes such as Mango Muchacho Margarita, Mango Flower, Mango Black Bean and Caramelized Veggie Burrito, and the Mango Michelada — with more to come.

“The National Mango Board's focus is continuing to drive awareness and education about the mango fruit, but this website enhancement will give us the opportunity to make mango more available for our visitors ...” Board Director Dan Spellman said in the release.

The board is supported entirely by assessments from domestic and imported mangoes. Board members participate in strategic planning, marketing and communications, research, and industry relations to increase mango consumption in every U.S. household.
