Dave Rhodes, previously vice president of produce for Marsh Supermarkets, is the new Northeast retail promotion director for the Eagle-based Idaho Potato Commission.
Rhodes succeeds Ken Tubman, who is retiring after 15 years with the organization, said Seth Pemsler, vice president, retail/international, for the commission.
“Dave is a valuable new resource for our Northeastern retailers because he brings an incredible amount of hands-on industry knowledge to the table,” he said. “We’re really looking forward to having him as part of our great Idaho potato team.”
Rhodes will work with retailers across the Northeast and Midwest, drawing on nearly 20 years with Indianapolis-based Marsh Supermarkets. He also worked with Indianapolis-based Caito Foods and Michigan-based Ashcraft Markets.
“My strong suit is that I can sit down and converse with produce managers and understand the situations they’re going through,” he said. “I can share similar situations and offer help based on what I’ve seen that works in the produce department.”
