A new partnership between Carlisle, Pa.-based The Giant Co. and HowGood will provide environmental and social impact ratings for products in the retailer's online store.

The ratings from HowGood take into account farming practices, treatment of animals, labor conditions and chemical use, according to a news release. Any product that has an icon showing one, two or three leaves is deemed one of the most sustainable in the assortment, and the more leaves, the more sustainable the item.
