AUSTIN, Texas--I caught up with the Envy apple crew during their November roadshow campaign at the Whole Foods flagship store and headquarters.
Envy grower and Turners & Growers Washington state program manager Rick Derry joined the sample and promotions crew for a few of the stops, which focused on increasing awareness of Envy.
Derry said the promotions give him a chance to share Envy's farm-to-table journey. Consumers were particularly interested in the apple's slow-to-brown characteristics, he said.
The stops also were promoting the brand's Show Us Your Stocking Instagram contest, which runs through Dec. 31. Consumers are encouraged to create fun photos of Envy-stuffed stockings for a chance to win one of five prizes.
The roadshow is part of an integrated promotion plan for Envy, which includes digital, in-store, consumer and trade, said Brock Nemecek, marketing manager for T&G North America.
