EmpowerFresh says its new partnership with Associated Wholesale Grocers Inc. will offer tools for AWG members to enhance inventory management and ordering.

EmpowerFresh says it will help members of AWG — a cooperative food wholesaler serving independently owned supermarkets — manage inventory, forecast and replenish orders using artificial intelligence-driven order and ad writing tools integrated into key internal data systems. The will offer seamless, more productive and increased gross profit operations while reducing food waste and providing fresher produce to their customers, according to a news release.

“We’re excited to partner with EmpowerFresh and the benefits they will bring to our member retailers,” Tye Anthony, chief merchandising and marketing officer for AWG, said in the release. “With EmpowerFresh, our members will gain access to state-of-the-art technology solutions designed to optimize every facet of the produce department, ensuring efficiency and competitiveness in the markets they serve.”

Anthony Totta, chief visionary officer for EmpowerFresh, said the company is focused on specific deliverables that will provide actionable data to independent retail grocers.

“The actionable data our software delivers empowers the user to gain insight that would otherwise be overlooked. With these outstanding results, the subscriber should realize at least an 8 to 1 ROI," Totta said in the release. "Our comprehensive solutions are designed to enhance profitability through margin optimization, shrink reduction, alleviation of out-of-stocks, and streamlining labor hours.”

EmpowerFresh was set to showcase its mobile web-based application at AWG’s Annual Innovation Showcase, March 25-26.
