Show your appreciation for front line personnel with the 6th annual Love Your Produce Manager Day on April 2.
The event, started by Los Alamitos, Calif.-based Frieda’s Specialty Produce, is designed to salute the hardworking men and women in produce departments, and is designed for both in-store and social media participation using the hashtag #LYPM.
Frieda’s will make a donation for every industry organization that shares the hashtag or mentions Love Your Produce Manager Day in its communications to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.
“The produce department is the heart of the supermarket, and produce managers keep it ticking,” said Karen Caplan, president and CEO of Frieda’s, in a news release. “According to the United Fresh Produce Association’s 2016 year in review, 33% of all fresh grocery sales come from produce. And these men and women contribute to that success with their beautiful displays and excellent customer service.”
