The Mushroom Council has a new site to reinforce its promotion for The Blend (combining mushrooms and meat), its benefits, and to help build a community for fellow “Blenditarians.”
Blenditarian.com wants to unify The Blend’s audiences, and provide recipes, nutrition facts and sustainability information for people who want to do better through The Blend, the Council says, in a news release.
“Over the past year, The Blend has transformed from a trend into a movement, with excitement spreading from chef to chef, school to school and consumer to consumer,” says Bart Minor, president of the Mushroom Council, in a news release. “Every movement deserves a name and a home. We consider a ‘blenditarian’ a person who wants to do better, whether it’s making better choices for their health, for the planet or for the enjoyment of food.”
Retailers, consumers, restaurants and other foodservice operators are encouraged to join the movement, pledge to “do better” and add themselves to the Interactive Blenditarian Map.
The site includes recipes, tutorials, The Blend Blog, up-to-date news and events and information on The Blended Burger Project.
