CMI offers customized approach to digital

CMI Orchards is partnering with the firm’s retail customers in new ways this year with the customized digital and omnichannel vehicles now available, said George Harter, vice president of marketing for the Wenatchee, Wash.-based company.

Harter said CMI should have good pear volume this year.

“We have a vibrant product offering that we expect to have volumes very similar to last year,” he said. “Our growing practices and packing facilities and processes give us great quality pears to support our customers demand.”

Demand for organic pears is expected to increase, and Harter said CMI’s organic pear volume is growing year over year.

“Marketing of organic pears will continue to include digital, omnichannel, display in-store and unique sustainable packaging,” he said.

Packaging trends for CMI point to the increasing importance of packaged items, he said.

“As in apples and many other bulk offerings, just the everyday purchases will continue to migrate to packaged items,” he said.

“Sustainability of package offerings will continue to be of highest priority. Sustainable packaging can be subjective, so we will continue to partner with our customers on what that looks like.”
