The Mushroom Council and the Food Network have partnered on the Blended Burger Contest. The competition is open to all home cooks and food professionals. The grand prize — $10,000 to the home cook and $10,000 to the winning professional with the best recipes.
The rules are: "Create your original spin on a blended burger using at least 25% chopped mushrooms in the patty," according to the website. "Two tracks, two prizes. Show us what you got by submitting your own blended burger recipe ... for a chance to win big. Show off your delicious burger photos on Instagram using the hashtag #BlendedBurgerContest."

Eligible mushroom varieties include store-bought white button, crimini, portabella, shiitake, oyster, beech, maitake, trumpet (king oyster) and lion’s mane (pom pom mushroom), according to the website.
