Bee Sweet Citrus is encouraging shoppers to ring in the new year with specialty citrus varieties.

"Every year, numerous individuals make the resolution to eat healthy to better their mental and physical health, and what better way to do that than with delicious specialty citrus varieties," said Bee Sweet Citrus Director of Communications Monique Mueller in a news release. "With citrus in peak season, we can assure our customers that there's a variety available to cater to their unique needs."

Right now, the Bee Sweet Citrus team has a diverse selection of citrus varieties that include household staples such as navel oranges, mandarins, lemons and grapefruit, as well as specialty citrus varieties such as heirloom navels, cara cara oranges, royal red oranges and pummelos. While all varieties are an excellent source of vitamin C and other immunity- boosting nutrients, each item has a distinct flavor profile, offering foodies and shoppers an opportunity to use different varieties for various occasions, the company says.

"Heirloom navels and cara caras are excellent options for those looking to add fresh produce to their diet because they're sweet, nutritious and add a burst of flavor to winter salads and entrees," Mueller said. "Pummelos are perfect for shoppers who celebrate the Lunar New Year, and our royal red oranges complement the vibrant red and pink hues of Valentine's Day."

At the start of the season, the Bee Sweet Citrus team announced that it redesigned the packaging of its premium citrus varieties, including pummelos and royal red oranges. The new designs aim to celebrate the variety's seasonality and catch the attention of shoppers browsing the produce aisle. Furthermore, the company recently launched "The Buzz at Bee Sweet," a social media campaign designed to educate shoppers about the characteristics of its specialty varieties.

"All of our recent marketing efforts have been designed with the shopper in mind," Mueller said. "Our goal is to celebrate the versatility of our specialty varieties while encouraging shoppers to try something new."

In addition to the varieties noted above, Bee Sweet Citrus will also have minneola tangelos available for customers at the beginning of January.
