“I'm hungry.”
These words can be a major source of frustration for parents. They want to feed their children healthful snacks, but it seems like they're always looking for options.
There's the classic crowd pleaser “ants on a log,” consisting of celery, peanut butter and raisins, but even that can get old after a while.
Duda Farm Fresh Foods knows a thing or two about stuffing celery. The Oviedo, Fla.-based company is one of the largest celery growers out there, and has been working over the past several years to make the crisper drawer staple more accessible for snacking. The company offers a free ebook, “24 Ways to Stuff Celery,” and is a supporter of National Ants on a Log Day coming up next month.
“We are always excited to provide fun, nutritious snacking options to families looking to add convenience to their healthy lifestyles,” says Nichole Towell, senior director of marketing. “Ants on a Log Day is a fan favorite because there are endless options when it comes to stuffing celery with delicious ingredients and making the perfect healthy snack.”
Duda is partnering with Peanut Butter & Co. for National Ants on a Log Day this year and plans to use its influencer partnerships and social media for promotions. The holiday is always the second Tuesday in September, and is celebrated on Sept. 12 this year.
Ants on a log also is a great opportunity to build a cross promotion with dried fruit, nut butters, hummus, yogurt, cream cheese and more.
