In the spring of 1983 Wolcott's local grocery store Pikwick was closing its doors. Wolcott residents Patsy and Rose DiSapio heard the news and decided they wanted to make a go at opening their own grocery store. Patsy was a full time carpenter, and Rose a saleswoman at G-Fox. After searching for a distributor, they were lucky enough to partner with Bozzuto’s right in Cheshire Connecticut. With Patsy’s extremely strong work ethics and Carpenter experience he was able to flip the business around and open Pat's IGA’s doors for the first time in Summer of 1983.
