Walnut Creek Farm is a family owned and run business with 50 acres of land and 6 greenhouses. In our greenhouses we grow greens, berries, tomatoes, squash, peppers and much more. We are using a method called aquaponics. Aquaponics is a form of agriculture that combines raising fish in tanks (recirculating aquaculture) with soilless plant culture. In aquaponics, the nutrient-rich water from raising fish provides a natural fertilizer for the plants and the plants help to purify the water for the fish. We also have a peach orchard, cut flowers, 10 live almond trees, and row cropping, including: Melons, squashes, radish, carrots, onions, and potatoes. For other fresh produce, we partner with Texas farms that we have visited and verified that they practice the same growing methods and/or are organic.
