Chuck and Myrna Nystrom are the second generation owners of Ocheda Orchard. The orchard was originally planted in 1965 by Chuck's father Donald Nystrom. The original trees were mainly University of Minnesota developed varieties. Over the years those standard-sized trees have been replaced by dwarf trees, many of which are varieties developed here at Ocheda Orchard in Chuck's breeding program.
In addition to apples, the orchard has pumpkin, squash, and gourds.
There are approximately 5000 trees planted on 30 acres.
