Fairhaven Farm began in 1985 when owner/farmer Marsha Anklam moved to town with the ambition to convert the 50 acre row crop farm into a fruit operation. It began with berries, but the farm soon grew into an apple orchard once Marsha met and soon married David Macgregor. Marsha and David both arrived to farming from a horticultural background, and the farm shows it. While our first priority are growing apples, one can find just about one of every fruit tree, bush, or plant that can grow in the region somewhere across the farm. Our farm is also well known for producing our own varieties of apples native to the property. Some favorites are KinderKrisp and Intensity
While the farm seems sleepy for most of the year, it comes into chaotic life in the fall. Beginning around mid-August we open our barn to reveal a farm store where we sell apples, pears, plums, grapes, jams, pies, crisps, caramel apples, honey, maple syrup, flowers and so much more. Starting around Labor Day weekend we open up the grounds for a themed corn maze, and pick-your-own apples, grapes, raspberries, and pumpkins.
