5o years ago, when ‘Billy Boy’ was a younger lad in college, a professor gave him a pack of pumpkin seeds. Bill & his Father thought it over & went all in - planting an acre worth of seed to grow in the desert/mountain climate of Central New Mexico. They became the first pumpkin farmers in the Estancia Valley.
I believe Bill & his outgoing spirit realized he prefered to be out meeting other pumpkin farms & attractions, eventually beginning to sell pumpkins for farmers & has been following Growers Agent Lane for 30+ years now.
All along, brother Don Larson represents the ‘Larson’ in the Marketing as well. And now, me. Ashley. We are genuinely excited to get to meet, interact, & manage business with pumpkin growers, buyers, & drivers across the nation.
Our farmers typically grow a variety of Jack-O-Lanterns, Pie Size, Winter Squash, and Ornamentals. Conventional & some organic. We ship a bulk of product to Pumpkin Patches & sometimes chain stores. A map showing which states we have grower & buyer connections in is on following page.
Typically we ship 150+ loads a year. Think 53’ semi trailers. We can ship in most weather conditions. Customizing pallets, bins, stickers to buyers preference. Since we have many contacts in the logistics realm, we most often take charge in setting up shipping as well.
As Growers Agents, we do not handle money. Buyers will be invoiced directly from farmer. As well, logistics companies invoice Buyers as well.
Bill and I genuinely enjoy meeting farmers, business owners, and drivers in our journey through Pumpkin Season each year. We much more prefer the personal communication of face-to-face or voice vs the cyber communications that often surround our business and personal relationships now-a-days!
