Century Printing and packaging was born more than 20 years ago, when Don Waldrop and his sons Ben and Neil saw a need for quality labels and sought to expand beyond their small textile supply company. With Don out gathering customers, Neil, (fresh off a stint in research and development of packaging at Clemson University), running the company’s first press in a converted bathroom, and Ben maintaining the existing textile supply business, it soon became apparent that the family not only had a knack for printing labels, but a marketplace that was eager to depend on it.
Century took a leap of faith and built its current plant in 2001. The dad, brothers, and 5 employees moved in a month after the fateful events of 9/11. Despite the uncertainty of the times, their persistence, and unwavering focus on customer support, caused the company to grow a large and loyal clientele.
Today, the company has grown to include 4 presses and 40 employees. Century also gained ISO (2001:2015) Certification in 2017; In 2017 the company printed over 470 million labels.
Despite its growth, Century is still very much a family business and an active member of the Greer, SC business community, treating every new customer as a new friend.
