Over two-thirds of the country’s fruits are grown in California. The Central Valley covers over 18,000 square miles, is 450 miles long from North to South and is larger than nine different states. The Valley is the world’s largest patch of Class 1 soil making it one of the most productive agricultural regions in the world. The approximate 25 degree temperature swing from day to night is an ideal growing range for plants and the sun shines nearly 300 days a year.
