Combs Wholesale Produce Company was founded in 1945 in Winston-Salem, NC by Revis Combs exclusively as a tomato-repacker and shipper. In the decades to follow, our business evolved and a full line of produce was incorporated to meet the ever changing needs of our customers.
As of 2022 we sold in excess of 2,000 unique and seasonal items including: fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, dried beans, honey, peanuts, cheese, popcorn, pickled vegetables, country hams, nuts, old-fashioned candies, glass bottle sodas and ciders, eggs and dairy, and paper/plastic packaging.
Our state-of-the-art, USDA GAP/GHP certified facility was completed in 2021. It is currently 45,000 square feet and is operated by second and third generation family members, Benny and Ben Combs. We deliver NC/VA daily and SC weekly. We serve other wholesalers, chain retail and independent retail as well as regional and local foodservice accounts.
