Our family has farmed our land in Reno, Georgia, for over 100 years. Carolyn and Tom Hopkins established Hopkins Farms of Grady County in 1990. Both had been born and raised in the farming business, which would prove to be an asset for the husband and wife team. It just so happens, that Carolyn’s family’s farm land and Tom’s family’s farm land were continuous tracks, so when they married, it formed one big farm. What was once two farms became one, creating Hopkins Farms. Much of the land that is farmed today has been passed down from generation to generation; some land has been in the family for over 200 years!
It truly is a family business, with many members of the family involved in the farm in some way or another. Tom and Carolyn’s son Carroll is actively involved in the business. Carroll’s two sons, Ben and David, both have major roles on the farm, while Ben and David’s wives are taking care of day to day business.
