Jacobs Farm began as a small organic family farm on California’s Central Coast, founded by Larry Jacobs and Sandra Belin. In 1986, Jacobs and Belin brought their agricultural experience, knowledge of markets and their vision of social change to rural Baja California, where many farmers were struggling to make ends meet. The Del Cabo farming cooperative was launched with eight farmers. Today, more than 400 farmers work the land that has been with their families for generations, enjoying a much-improved quality of life and providing an environmentally sustainable economic engine for their families and their communities.
Jacobs Farm has been dedicated to producing sustainable crops of healthy, flavorful food for three decades. More than sixty varieties of fresh culinary herbs and edible flowers are produced for local California customers, as well as distributed nationwide and to Canada. The Del Cabo farming collective offers a year-round selection of high-quality organic fruits and vegetables grown on the Baja California peninsula.
Jacobs Farm now consists of seven farming sites located along California’s Central Coast, from Watsonville to Pescadero, while Del Cabo’s cooperative of farms now spans the entire length of the Baja California peninsula. Together, Jacobs Farm / Del Cabo includes nearly four thousand certified organic field and greenhouse acres.
