7 Mile Vineyard is a family vineyard owned by Eric and Marcia Miller, and it now involves three generations of Miller's. 7 Mile Vineyard is one of the more senior vineyards in the Yakima Valley. It was planted in 1985 by pioneer wine maker Paul Portteus on ten acres cut out of an original homestead plat. A well-weathered outbuilding from the homestead remains and is still functional. Shards of pottery, glass and metal artifacts from the homestead continue to percolate to the top of this extraordinary soil.
