Sean spent each summer during his high school and college years working for Carroll Farms in their peach orchards and packing shed. It was during those long, hot summers that he developed a passion for farming. After graduating college, he began studying at Clemson and planted his first orchard back home on a small piece of land he rented from the Barnes Family, and it is on that same land that he grows peaches today. Although Sean is a first generation American and farmer, he comes from a long lineage of cattle and sheep farmers in Ireland. Fitzgerald is the family farm name there, and he kept that name when he began his farm here in Woodbury, Georgia. Today, Fitzgerald Fruit Farms is the largest first-generation peach operation in the state. In 2015, Sean began planting strawberries and a variety of garden vegetables, and in 2019, he opened a new farm market and winery in the little community of Imlac. We would love to have you visit for a wine tasting and for fresh produce.
