Stephanie DeMilio, aka "The Meatloaf Lady," just made history! Stephanie, who works in the Bella Vista, AR, deli, has become a local legend for making and promoting Martha Harp meatloaf. Her success story was sparked by internet beef, which led her to create the "Meatloaf Lady of Bella Vista" Facebook page—reviving a love for meatloaf in the Bella Vista community and beyond! Harps recognized her impact and submitted her into a pool of over 300 applicants for the National Grocers Association Creative Choice Awards—where she won in three categories: 🏅Digital Connections 🏅Shopper Experience 🏅Fresh: Bakery/Deli/Prepared Foods/Foodservice But that’s not all—Stephanie’s work also helped Harps win the Outstanding Merchandiser award in the overall Creative Choice category! Harps was honored to partner with Sioux Honey Co-op to donate 6,480 12oz bottles of Sue Bee Honey — enough to cover 10 basketball courts — to the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank today! 🍯💚 This honey will be distributed to mobile pantries, school food pantries and neighbors in need throughout NWA. Harps Food Stores former Chairman and CEO, Roger Collins, passed away July 1, 2024. Roger Collins began his career at Harps in December of 1986. As I recall that time in our company, we really needed a great V.P. of Finance and Roger would be the answer to that prayer. From that beginning he would become an integral part in shaping the future of Harps. It was under Roger’s guidance that we transitioned from family owned to Employee Owned in 2001. With Gerald Harp’s retirement at that same time, Roger would become our new Chairman and CEO and would lead us through our first 15-years of employee ownership. Under his capable leadership, Harps would not just survive, but thrive and grow from 42 locations to 82 locations with sales increasing 110% during the same time. He will be remembered for transforming our company culture and for his competitive spirit that would never quit no matter the odds. His passion for excellence, integrity, and people-first approach inspired everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him. He was not just a leader; he was a mentor, a friend, and a source of inspiration. We all owe Roger a great deal as today we stand on his shoulders as employee owners with a bright future made possible by the foundation, he helped forge. Our thoughts and prayers are with Roger’s daughters, Lauren and Lindsey, as well as to his extended family.
